Cast your mind back to April 2014. David Moyes was toiling miserably as Manchester United’s manager. Meanwhile, arch-rivals Liverpool seemed poised to benefit from his slip-ups, and win their first title for 24 years. So for a bit of Paddy Power mischief, we created a statue of the Old Trafford boss and erected at Anfield (“for services to Liverpool Football Club”).
The move was a social media phenomenon, with Liverpool fans queuing for photos all day. (Until their own slip-ups later
gifted the title to Manchester City…)
